Ards and North Down Borough Council and the Department for Social Development are committing £5.5M to improve the Public Realm throughout the Town Centre.
Public Realm refers to the paving, lighting, planting, seating and signage in a town. Improvements to these features will greatly enhance the appearance of the town and stimulate investment.
The Newtownards scheme will include the following areas;
Conway Square, Regent Street, Frances Street, Castle Place, South Street, Lower Mary Street, Meeting House Lane, Gibson's Lane, Mill Street and High Street.
FP McCann would like to thank all the businesses, residents and shoppers for their continued understanding and cooperation as the contractor works around various obstacles that are encountered on a typical town centre environmental improvement scheme.

The Newtownards, Comber and Donaghadee Public Realm Team came away with a Gold Award, Bronze Award and Runner Up Award.
We are now coming up on a year since Conway Square was completed and re-opened to the public and Market traders.
Timelapse footage of the construction of Conway Square can now be viewed on the FP McCann webpage. This shows the full extent of the work in Conway Square from start to finish giving a clear vision of the transformation.
